Justin + Caitlyn + One on One

In February I had my first teaching opportunity in our 101 Workshop. We had such a great time, and met so many great individuals. I also had the chance to do my first One on One mentoring session last month.
So what is a one on one mentoring session? The workshop is great for anyone wanting to get to know your camera and learn the basics of photography. A one on one session is much like the workshop, we just get one on one time, a lot of Q&A, and a short photoshoot to practice what you've learned. If you're interested in knowing more about a one on one mentoring session, please contact me at: mkloefflerphoto@gmail.com Lucky for me, my friends Justin and Caitlyn were available to do a little modeling for me. Here are just a few shots of our mini session! photo 2013-03-12_0009_zpsa56e72ea.jpg photo 2013-03-12_0008_zps162ec39f.jpg photo 2013-03-12_0004_zps7075943b.jpg photo 2013-03-12_0003_zpsd5664e49.jpg photo 2013-03-12_0006_zpsa95b4471.jpg photo 2013-03-12_0002_zpsfe80f133.jpg photo 2013-03-12_0010_zps8a749f81.jpg photo 2013-03-12_0008_zps162ec39f.jpg

Sarah + Jake : I Do

Sarah and Jake met each other while camping with their families at Timber Trails in Mulberry Grove, Illinios. Who would have guessed that these two would be getting married nearly 10 years later? In high school and college, I spent a lot of summer evenings there playing sand volleyball with my friends, so who knows! I could have even been on the scene as their romance began to unfold. :)

This was the first time I had not met a bride before her wedding day. Jake is a Marine and was unable to come home to do an engagement session. Sarah was sweet, laid back, and fun and her wedding day matched her personality perfectly.

Sarah and Jake, you have many good times ahead of you. Let the adventure begin! :)

Holly + Aaron: I Do

I've known Holly since we were kids. Her sister, Bonnie and I were best friends in high school and eventually she and I attended college together at SIUE. Like many couples, Holly and Aaron were BFF's first. I remember the early stages of their relationship and seeing them on campus together....(always!)and I always wondered why they weren't more than just friends. After several years of being friends, they found that they wanted something more, and let me tell you, being married to your best friend is one of the greatest blessings you could ever have.

Somewhere between children's choir, youth group, and attending college, we grew up, and Holly has grown into quite the academic. Just finishing law school, this grad has had a full plate this season! Aaron is genuinely one of the nicest guys I've ever met. Their quirky sense of humor and love for Christ and others makes them a wonderful pair. I was thrilled when she contacted me about photographing her wedding last year and loved both her and Aaron's vision for their images.

It was a hot day for a wedding, but it turned out beautifully. An simple ceremony with an adorable backyard reception made for an excellent day.

A big shoutout to my girl Emily Dobson for spending the day with me and giving me some great images to add to Holly and Aaron's collection.

Jessica + Frank: Engaged

I met Jessica a few months ago during her bridal consultation. Her friend and co-worker Lacey referred her to me when she found out they were looking for a wedding photographer. In this business it's all about who you know! After chatting over pressed paninis and salads, Jessica let me know that she didn't think she and her fiance Frank were very photogenic.

My dear, I beg to differ. :) I think that everyone who sees these would beg to differ. Photobucket
Photobucket We ventured to The City Museum in St. Louis and found some fun nooks and crannies to capture some fun engagement shots. Photobucket

While visiting the City Museum, I had a close encounter with an Iphone being dropped from 2 stories above me. I'm happy the phone only hit me and not my beautiful models! Yikes! Which leads me to my next point. Don't carry your cell phone in your pocket if you are going to be climbing on playground equipment at the City Museum!!

Looking forward to your September nuptials! Thanks for a fun day!

Alycia + Neil: Engaged

Wedding season is coming up quicker than ever! I feel incredibly humbled and honored to have a full wedding schedule this year, each bride being ridiculously talented & beautiful.

Miss Alycia is one of those girls.
A few years back, a drummer fell in love with a flutist in the SIU band. These two were awesome to work with. I love it when clients are flexible with locations and settings. Plus, it's always a win when I have a man who's not afraid to smile! Of course how could he not with his love in his arms?

We ventured out around around Cape Girardeau, MO. I love exploring new places and finding unexpected locations like this one.
I gave Neil permission to just "love on Alycia" in this one. I love it.
I'm a little jealous of Alycia because she gets to work with my lovely sister every week as a producer at KFVS-12. When I first met Alycia I found out we've got one thing in common, for sure. Both of us are avid "pinners". If you haven't discovered Pinterest yet, where have you been? Just kidding, but seriously check it out. I just know she's found lots of goodies on there for she and Neil's October wedding.

One thing is for sure, Neil adores you Alycia.

Looking forward to your October wedding!

Gina + Randy

Photobucket

One of the best things about my job is getting to meet new people. I had the opportunity to meet Gina and Randy last week for a session, just south of St. Louis. Gina had always been Randy's one that got away. Attending high school together, these two found their way back to each other years later and are as happy as ever. These love birds were so adorable, and SO fun to work with. The joy they find in one another is written all over their faces.

It's obvious that these two truly care for one another.

I'm fairly sure that they both enjoyed their time together during our session. Randy kept saying how much fun he was having. I think it was most fun for Randy because he got to hug Gina so much. ;)

Thanks so much for allowing me to capture you at this season in life. I had such a great time during your session. Looking forward to seeing you again in May! :)
