week.seventeen.

We had an exciting thing happen last week....
We both felt the baby move on Friday night for the first time before we went to bed. :) I felt it a couple more times this weekend too. This week I've really started showing. My stomach is protruding now. Yikes! At my apt. they said I was measuring big for my week, although I've only gained a few more pounds since the last time I was in.

I'm at week 17 now, and like any mommy to be, I have been browsing online for bedding, nursery decor, and baby gear. I'm holding back the urge to get anything big yet until we know what we're having (on the 30th). I have yet to find the perfect bedding for our little one. I want to pick something fairly neutral and something non-traditional: a little less baby, a little more modern.

I've been browsing on etsy.com lately and I'm loving what I'm finding. A little bit about Etsy, it's all handmade stuff from people just like you and me (but who can actually sew, and sew good!) selling their items online. Some of the stuff is really nice, really boutique-like which I really like. Here's just a few things I found tonight browsing....

I can't wait to go and register!! I'm considering going fabric shopping and trying to make my own bedding if I can't find what I want. I picked up a used sewing machine (that is broken at the moment) and I plan to start making some fun things with it as soon as I get it repaired.

I had the day off today. Woo hoo! I spent the morning rehearsing for Thursday's praise and worship at Bible study, and we ran errands this afternoon. When I got home I suddenly turned into Suzzie homemaker...I made a broccoli salad, apple cobbler, and supper; broiled Parmesan tilapia, homemade mac and cheese and salad. I don't know what got into me! I sit here now, trying to motivate myself to go through the office a little more (an over 3 week project now), sipping on a Dr. pepper from this afternoon....please don't lecture me on not drinking caffine while pregnant. I'll probably be up for a while because of the caffine since I rarely drink it. More motivation to do something productive, right?
